Elite Outdoor Rugby Facilities with Strong Community Legacy
Established in 1979 and based at Judy Holt Park in Birkdale, Redlands Rugby Union Club – affectionately known as the Muddies – is one of the leading sports clubs in the region.

  • Home of grassroots to Golden Oldies – Over 450 playing members, from Mini Muddies (ages 3–5) through juniors, colts, senior men and women, plus a thriving Golden Oldies program and modified rugby.
  • Deep community roots – The club plays a central role for local families, hosting not only sporting fixtures but social and cultural events throughout the year.
  • Upgraded high-performance precinct – Works are underway on significant upgrades at Judy Holt Park. By late 2026, the precinct is planned to include:
    • Three full-size international rugby fields (100m x 70m)

    • A new two-storey clubhouse suitable for team meetings, analysis sessions, hospitality and events

This redevelopment positions Redlands Rugby Union Club as a premier training venue – perfectly timed to support Rugby World Cup 2027 preparations.

Endorsements & Track Record

Redlands Rugby Union Club already has a strong reputation with elite rugby and international visitors.
Redlands Coast also has a proven record as a “home away from home” for international teams, including Team England cycling and shooting in the lead-up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, and is a Junior Games partner and event venue city for Canoe Slalom at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“Every time I walk into the club, it’s such a nice family community and when I go back, it’s like I never left… once you‘re a muddie always a muddie so it’s a club I hold close to my heart for sure.”
